Historic 75-acre family farm with private pond-view cottage
The Farm & Grounds
Fox Hill Farm is a 75-acre family farm in Pomfret, Connecticut, where the land has been in the innkeeper's wife's family for 300 years. American novelist Dawn Powell stayed at the inn in the 1920s and later wrote of it in her letters. The property also has a pond, garden, sun terrace, picnic area, BBQ facilities, an electric vehicle charging station, and free parking.
The Superior Cottage
The Superior Cottage is a self-contained apartment with a bedroom, living room, kitchen, bathroom, and outdoor deck overlooking the pond. It includes a clawfoot bathtub, towel warmer, and a king-size bed. The refrigerator is stocked with complimentary beverages and snacks, and daily housekeeping and laundry service are provided.
Breakfast & Dining
Innkeeper Nick cooks made-to-order breakfasts served in the cottage or on the deck overlooking the pond. The menu includes Italian, full English/Irish, halal, gluten-free, and kosher choices. Blueberry pancakes with warmed maple syrup are a specialty, and kids' meals and special diet menus are available.
Activities & Location
The inn offers bike tours, fishing, hiking, and walking tours on and near the property. Roseland Cottage is 5 km away, Roseland Park Golf Course is 7 km away, and Worcester Regional Airport is 53 km from the inn. Guests can drive 50 minutes to the casino in Norwich or reach restaurants within 10-15 minutes of the property.
Pet-Friendly & Family Stay
The inn is pet-friendly, and guests have let their dogs run in the wildflower field by the pond. Services include a 24-hour front desk, concierge service, private check-in/check-out, room service, and laundry. Family rooms, kids' meals, and special diet menus are available for guests traveling with children.
